You can group different Connectorlys together so data is combined into a single database.
The Connectorlys do not have to be the same type; for example you can group Connectorly for Xero and Microsoft Power BI and Connectorly for HubSpot and Microsoft Power BI together to create Power BI reports that combine marketing, sales, support and finance data to calculate accurate CAC (Cost of Acquisition), ARPU (Average Revenue per User) and LTV (Lifetime Value) values.
How to Group two or more Connectorlys together
Make sure the initial data extraction process has completed for all connectors you plan to group together. You can verify this by opening each connector and checking the Sync History tab to ensure there are no running processes.
When you are in the Connections view, click to drag and pick up one of the Connectorlys you want to group and drop it onto the other which will become the Master:
In this case it’s going to be the Demo company that becomes the Master:
When you release, a group is created - shown by a thick border that now surrounds the two Connectorlys:
Data is moved from the dropped Connectorly into the master which takes a few minutes. The cogs stop moving when this has completed and all data will be in the Master Connectorly database.
You can group as many Connectorlys as you like together; just keep dropping them on top of the Master connection.
What's special about the Master?
The Master Connectorly not only determines which database you connect to in Power BI, but also determines the settings for the group.
For Connectorly for Xero and Microsoft Power BI the Master:
Sets the Account Name for shared Account Codes
Determines the Financial Year start
Sets the period lock date, if you have chosen to only export locked periods.
When can't you group Connectorlys?
During the initial data load
When a Connectorly is first created, it isn't possible to group it with others until the first data load has finished. For large datasets this may take many hours and you will need to wait until this has finished before grouping.
If they are not compatible
Not all Connectorlies support Grouping, for example you can't group Connectorly for Microsoft Dynamics 365 and Xero with Connectorly for Xero and Microsoft Power BI.
